Makati City is the heart of Metro Manila. It is known for its busy days, skyscrapers, shopping and entertainment. If you take Philippine Airlines, then you can go straight from your cheap Manila flight to Makati in the morning. Ninoy Aquino International Airport is 30 minutes away from everything, so once you land you will be just a short ride to your destination.

The Manila Peninsula is on the corner of Ayala and Makati Avenues. It has five hundred guest rooms and four restaurants. The Manila Peninsula was remodeled in winter 2006 and it is beautiful now. The main lobby is excellent with marble floors and a live orchestra playing in the evenings. There is a beautiful fountain in front of the hotel and the rooms are luxurious. The restaurant and buffet are world class, so your stay here will almost certainly be superb.

The Mandarin Oriental Manila has excellent customer service. I'll start there. You are greeted by a doorman and after you check in, Everyone knows your name and greets you as you come and go. The lobby isn't as impressive as the other hotels, but the food is exquisite at the restaurant and buffet. It is located on Makati Avenue. Out of all of the Makati hotels, this may have the most customer oriented service out of all of them.
